Description
The 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport option, which included the dual-quad Super Wildcat 425 V8, a 3.42 axle ratio, and stiffer, heavy-duty suspension, the dual pipes were increased from 2.0” to 2.25”, the 401 cu in V8 was the standard Riviera engine with a turbine 400 tranny which had a variable pitch torque converter, externally, the headlamps were concealed behind clamshell doors of each fender, as in the original design, further back, the side scoops between the doors and rear wheel arches were removed, and the taillights were moved from the body into the rear bumper, a vinyl roof was an option, initially offered only in black, and the tilt steering wheel was now standard equipment.
