A pen & ink wash rendering of the barkentine Makaweli, Capt. Nellson, lumber laden from Tacoma to Mazatlán, Mexico, has foundered off the west coast of Vancouver island, with all hands perishing, the Makaweli left Tacoma October 20, passed Tatoosh on the 31st and was not again heard of until the report arrived from Clayquot this morning announcing her loss, the Makaweli was built at Oakland, CA, in 1902. And was of 821 tons

Jack, this is such a magnificent pen and ink & Wash. It was so creative to do this on a map of the area. Stunning work!! It makes me wonder what you would do with my 1779 View of America... Printed between 1779 and 1800. Other maps replaced the one I purchased. Wonderfully creative. Bravo! F/L
